On May 14, 2019, the Lake Dunlap Dam collapsed, and the lake emptied within a few hours. Almost immediately, a group of residents began looking for ways to repair the damage, but quickly it became clear that the damage was far more significant than anyone imagined.

This site is an archive of the efforts to find a way to fund the restoration of Lake Dunlap, and the campaign to win the election on November 3, 2020 that won overwhelming support from the voters.

Work to rebuild the dam officially on May 14, 2021, two years after the dam failed to the day.

And finally, after 1,571 days of hard work on behalf of the entire community, the new gates on the Lake Dunlap dam began to be raised.

As of August 31, 2023, Lake Dunlap is officially back!

We did it! Our lake is Rising Every Day!

On May 14, 2019, the lives of everyone in the Lake Dunlap community changed when our dam failed. Our lake emptied in a matter of hours.

On November 3, 2020, we changed that story forever when we passed all three Lake Dunlap WCID propositions in a huge landslide, making it possible to obtain the $40 million requii=red to fix our dam and get the lake back!

On May 14, 2021, construction officially started on the dam, exactly two years after the collapse, to the day!

And finally, 1,571 days after the dam initially collapsed, the gates were raised once again on August 31, 2023.
